Kim M. Carrasca

KEWANEE - Kim M. Carrasca, 56, of Kewanee, died at 3:49 AM, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the emergency room of Kewanee Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Karen Martin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, March 3 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kim Carrasca Memorial Fund.

She was born July 2, 1956 in Kewanee, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Nanninga) Krause. She married Ronald “Ron” D. Carrasca on October 18, 1978 in Galva. He survives, as do a son, Ronnie (Becca) Carrasca of Morris, IL, a daughter, Jamie (Curt) English of Kewanee, a step-daughter, Rhonda (Kevin) Koosman of Mosinee, WI, six grandchildren, Taylor and Tanner Conover, Rylee English and Josh, Brandi and Morgan Koosman, her mother of Kewanee, a brother, a sister, two brother-in-laws, Fred (Annie) Carrasca of Paradise, CA and John (Ermal) Carrasca of Galva and two sister-in-laws, Rita (Richard) Wheelhouse of Kewanee and Cathy (Richard) Staker of Dahinda. She was preceded in death by her father.

Kim graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1974. She had worked at GTE as an operator and dispatcher which is where she had met Ron. She had also worked as a secretary at Ven-Dal and Kewanee Vending and part-time at B&B Printing. For the past 11 years she had worked as office secretary at American Family Insurance until her retirement. She was a member of the Kewanee Moose Lodge. She enjoyed canning, sewing, refinishing furniture, gardening, flowers, going to the boat, collecting chicken paraphernalia and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
