She was born February 15, 1931 in Galesburg, the daughter of Forrest C. Stevens and Lillian I. Smith. Survivors include her son Stephen (Amy) Sherman of Eldridge, IA, grandchildren; Sean Sherman, Ryan Sherman, Makenna Sherman, and Hanna Wilson, great-grandsons Dixon Dockey and Huddsen Wilson, her sister-in-law Verla Stevens, and special caretaker Juana Interial Sturm. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Scyrill D. Sherman, her daughter, Anita G. Sherman and son Richie Sherman.
Pat graduated from LaFayette High School. She married Scyrill D. Sherman on October 18, 1957. She was an active member of the former Grace United Methodist Church where she served as a greeter, Lay Leader and Speaker and would sometimes serve as an usher. Pat was a 50-year member of the Knox County Farm Bureau. Professionally, she worked for Lilly Tulips, Dr. Ryder’s, and for the Galva Creamery. Most importantly, she raised a family and assisted her husband on the farm. Pat was a spunky little lady who left her mark everywhere she went. She had a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed. A special thank you to all family and friends for taking care of Pat the last several months.
